| Comments: Dwarf Allamanda grows only 2-3' high and 2'-3' wide, blooms best in full sun and will bloom in partial shade. It blooms most of the year in South Florida cycling with heaviest bloom in Summer and Fall when they are typically available at Florida Home Depots in gallon containers. They are so colorful and durable in the intense full sun heat of summer that they are often used as summer annuals in North Florida. Allamandas tolerate most soil types. Soils should be well drained. It is evergreen and tolerates light frost but should be considered tender to cold. It is not salt tolerant. Other bush and vine types are available and popular blooming standouts with few pest problems. All Allamandas are poisonous if eaten. |
